For the OER19 conference which took place in Galway on 10-11 April 2019, I convened a panel on ‘Enabling equity and inclusion for asylum seekers and refugees through open education’. The panellists were Markus Wachowski from Kiron Open Education gGmbH (who joined us online from Berlin), Alessandro Caforio from Uninettuno in Italy, Paul O’Keeffe from  InZone, University of Geneva, and my co-creator at Refugee Learning Stories, Gill Ryan from the Open University in Scotland.

We used Zoom to bring Markus into the room, and this also enabled us to record the session. The recording is available on YouTube (subtitles can be enabled by clicking on the CC button below the video).

The panellists also produced a Padlet containing information about the programmes offered to refugees by the University of Geneva’s InZone, Kiron, Uninettuno, the Open University in Scotland. Colleagues from Dublin City University also added information about their programmes. There are links to further resources in the final column of the Padlet.
